Untamed

Somewhere midnight chimes
like a warning bell
and I feel like I’m in hell
the fire within burns me to my core
consumed by a need
that can not be named or freed

These bones and sinews are foreign to me
for I am effervescent luminosity
stardust caught on the Raven’s wing
a cosmic song that the mermaids sing

This world will not define me or confine me
keep your picket fences of white
for I duel with dragons
and party with creatures of the night

In my heart and in my soul
I remain
inflamed
and bleed the blood of roses
for a love that can’t be tamed
