The Weight

Today I am bone weary
to my core
and carry the weight of a thousand lifetimes
or more
behind my eyes I have seen it all
the rise and the fall
civilizations
once and then no more

My only hope is in myself
to burn through to the inner seed
and ignite the spark
of a demon need
where I can take flight
and soar along the silver linings
of eternal night
